Healthcare transformation and the unlimited potential of health IT took center stage at this year’s annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Las Vegas, Nev, on March 5-9.
As the largest health IT conference in North America with more than 40,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibitors, HIMSS is a chance for leaders across healthcare to discuss and explore the future of health IT — where it’s going, what will change and how they can lead their organizations to success.
HIMSS16 was expected to be the largest national healthcare IT show, uniting healthcare leaders from across the world to transform the way patient care is delivered through information technology. The show brought over 40,000 industry leaders together and with no surprise, did not fall short of expectations.
HIMSS16 begins next week. With a vision to better health through information technology, HIMSS promises to deliver a different conference from previous years’ shows. For starters, a 40 degree spike in weather from last year’s conference in Chicago should put a smile on the faces of those traveling from colder climates. Furthermore, it’s not an everyday occurrence for a (not one, but two-time) Super Bowl winner, Peyton Manning to deliver a healthcare IT conference keynote speech. Most importantly, HIMSS16 will bring together healthcare leaders from across the world with the same end goal: optimizing health engagements and patient care outcomes through information technology. Merge is excited to play a role in the HIMSS mission of developing innovative technology that will ultimately improve the speed and accuracy of healthcare delivery.
